Christian Community Ministries

St. Timothy’s was one of the founding churches of Christian Community Ministries, a ministry of emergency assistance to county residents experiencing financial hardship. The church’s “In the Name of Christ” fund has provided substantial financial help to this ministry and many of the volunteer CCM workers are St. Timothy’s members.

Food for the Soul

Soup of the Soul is held yearly the day of the Super Bowl  as an activity to bring awareness to Food for the Soul, a homeless shelter and soup kitchen.  Food is lovingly prepared by eager hands for the congregation and donations are accepted to support this vital community ministry.

Noisy Offering Ministry - 5th Sunday
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver .” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Noisy Offering is, as its name indicates, noisy. It’s a noisy offering because our children collect spare change from the other worshipers. When all those nickels and pennies drop, we can see smiling faces and hear laughter in the congregation. As this loose change, changes our faces, it also creates change in our community and the world.

Tanzania Missionaries

Cathy Milesiczak recently visited St. Timothy’s in May of this year and preached on her experiences as a SC Synod missionary to the Southwestern Diocese, Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania.  She shared many, many stories that truly moved our hearts.  God is truly working miracles in that country.
Cathy shares this regarding a SC Synod delegation that traveled to Tazania in 2017 to attend Consecration and Installation of the new Bishop.
“Our relationship with the South Western diocese is one of companionship. We have vowed walk the road together as brothers and sisters in Christ seeking to know each other and to serve God together. It was good to be present at this celebration. We were greeting by many people who had worked on our relationship. We were able to confirm that our companionship would continue and we were able to witness a celebration of praise and thanksgiving for the new bishop and for the work of the work of the South Western Diocese, ELCT.”
